Vegetables will fix everything

For years I treated every appointment like an exam. I'd write lists, gather evidence, rehearse what I was going to say so I didn't forget anything important. I'd lie awake the night before going over it.

And then I'd sit down, get through about two sentences, and somehow leave with dietary advice.

The flower is my inner voice. She did not take it well.
